Old and new books are reviewed, mostly nonfiction. The reviewer's intention is to find really good books in their categories, rather than necessarily the newest. All reviews were previously published in The Thurston-Mason Senior News, Olympia, WA, but not every review published in the paper is included here and some have been edited or expanded since original publication. College teaching makes up a third of my employment experience, and reporting, writing, and editing make up two-thirds. Education includes B.A. in English Literature, M.A. in East-West Psychology, and Ph.D. in English and Psychology. My graduate degrees are interdisciplinary.
